Workplace Stress – now addressed by Bluecrest Wellness
A recent survey featured in Employee Benefits magazine states that 44% of respondents in a workplace survey were identified as suffering with stress. The survey in question was conducted by healthcare insurer BUPA. The BUPA research surveyed over 10,000 people in the UK and found that:
- 28% have experienced stress for more than 1 year
- 27% regularly feel close to breaking point.
Causes of stress identified in the research include:
- money worries (20%)
- day-to-day working (18%)
- family life (8%)
What to do about workplace stress
Interestingly, people who suffer from stress can be all too frequently unlikely to raise it as a health concern, due to perceptions about how this will be viewed. As in other aspects of medicine, there can be “false positives” and “false negatives” where the person is missed or incorrectly identified with a particular concern.
Bluecrest Wellness recognises that no health screening can be perfect, but that “mind and body” can give a better understanding of overall wellbeing. This is why Bluecrest is currently working with an internationally renowned writer, speaker, coach and consultant in the development of new services that extend our offering beyond physical health into mental health, resilience and stress management.
