Protein & Ferritin (Iron

Stores)

Albumin

Albumin is a protein made by your liver. Its main job is to stop your blood from leaking into other tissues, but it also helps transport hormones, vitamins, minerals and enzymes through your body, as well as aiding the tissue growth and healing. Abnormal levels of albumin in your body may indicate problems with your liver or kidneys.

Globulin

Globulin is a type of serum protein found in your blood. It is used by your body to help regulate your circulatory system and transport metals in your blood, like iron, and help fight infection.

Total Protein

Your total protein is the combined total of albumin and globulin in your blood.

Iron Stores (Ferritin)

Ferritin is a blood protein which contains iron. Ferritin levels are used to help determine how much iron your body has stored for future use. Low levels can indicate iron deficiency before any fall in the amount of iron in your blood occurs.
