Testosterone (Males

Only)

Testosterone is the major male sex hormone responsible for sperm production, sex drive, bone mass, muscle size and strength in men.

Testosterone levels in males start to gradually decline after the age of 30. Although it’s a natural part of ageing, low levels (hypogonadism) can result in reduced sex drive, erectile dysfunction, enlarged breasts, loss of strength, mood swings and low sperm count. It’s important to note that opiates, including morphine and codeine, and recreational drugs can all affect testosterone levels.

Low testosterone in men is far more common than high testosterone, and can sometimes present unwanted symptoms including hair loss and erectile dysfunction. In order to ensure your results are clinically accurate, you’ll only be able to book a morning appointment as testosterone levels must be measured early in the day.

All our tests have been specially designed to be convenient and non-invasive. Once you’ve booked your appointment, full preparation instructions will be provided in your confirmation email or letter. You can continue to eat and drink normally before your appointment, and you’ll also remain fully clothed throughout.
