The Bluecrest Data Hub

TheBluecrestDataHub

Welcome to our Data Hub. Here, you can explore the health insights and statistics from Bluecrest. Plus, we share the data behind our findings and how we check for accuracy.

Real health data. Useful health insights.

Behind every Bluecrest health insight is more than a collection of results. There's clinical expertise, careful analysis and a structured process to make sure the data we use is reliable.

Our Data Hub brings together findings from health assessments across the UK, helping us identify patterns and build a clearer picture of the health trends we're seeing among Bluecrest customers.

From checking individual results to reviewing the data as a whole, every stage is designed to make our findings consistent, meaningful and grounded in evidence.

Our approach has also been documented as part of a review with 29Forward, specialists in business intelligence and data management.

How we bring our data together

From health assessments to meaningful insights.

Our data comes from real Bluecrest health assessments, including laboratory results, ECG readings, biometric measurements and information recorded during appointments.

We bring this information together with relevant details, such as assessment dates, customer demographics and previous visits, to understand results in context.

Before the information is used for research and reporting, our Data Team follows a structured process to prepare it for analysis. This includes cleaning recorded values, standardising test definitions and checking for missing information, duplicate records and unsupported results.

It's how we turn individual measurements into a consistent foundation for understanding wider health patterns.

How we standardise our results

Consistent data. Clearer comparisons.

Understanding a test result starts with knowing what it means.

Bluecrest uses clinically informed reference ranges and result categories based on recognised guidance, laboratory standards and medical research, including recommendations from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). Our approach is also supported by the clinical expertise of our Chief Medical Officer and Clinical Panel.

Our results are matched to the appropriate test criteria, which may take factors such as age, sex and ethnicity into account.

To support comparisons over time, we apply the latest available reference ranges to historical numerical results. This means an analytical result category can sometimes differ from the one shown on a customer's original report.

These ranges and classifications are managed through a centrally maintained, version-controlled system, helping us apply consistent standards throughout our analysis.

## How we check data quality

Making sure our numbers add up.

Before results are used in analysis, we check that they're complete, consistent and suitable for the purpose.

Our Data Team uses test-specific validation rules to identify implausible measurements, unrecognised values and other potential data errors. These checks are developed using clinical reference material, specialist knowledge and patterns identified in our data.

The validation limits used for numerical results were reviewed by our Chief Medical Officer in January 2026.

Importantly, an abnormal result isn't necessarily an error. A measurement outside the expected healthy range may still be valid. Our checks distinguish between genuine clinical findings and results that aren't reliable enough to analyse.

We also monitor data quality every time information is processed, checking record volumes, duplicates and validation outcomes. By comparing these findings with previous runs and reconciling raw and processed records, we can identify unexpected changes or information that may have been missed or counted twice.

How our data is governed

Clinical oversight. Clear accountability.

Reliable health intelligence depends on having the right expertise and processes in place.

At Bluecrest, our Data, Clinical and Data Protection teams have defined responsibilities for managing and overseeing health information.

Our clinical policy draws on recognised medical guidance, laboratory-validated ranges and peer-reviewed research. Changes to clinical criteria require approval from our Chief Medical Officer, with annual evidence reviews and additional checks when important guidance or testing methods change.

Changes to our data processes must also be documented, reviewed and approved, with clinical input where relevant. Version control helps us maintain a clear record of how our methods develop.

Our commitment to quality extends beyond our internal processes. Bluecrest is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and holds ISO 9001 certification for quality management.

The laboratories we work with are accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO 15189, the internationally recognised standard for medical laboratory quality and competence.

These external standards and sources of guidance complement the technical checks, clinical oversight and approval processes behind our data. You can learn more about Bluecrest's wider accreditations and standards on our Our Legitimacy page.

Access to detailed analytical data is restricted to authorised teams, while wider business teams use controlled reports and dashboards to explore relevant findings. These processes support research and reporting, rather than real-time clinical decision-making.

A list of awards Bluecrest has won, including the WSB 2025 Awards and Health and Protection Awards in 2024 and 2025.
