From an under or over active thyroid, to low iron levels and diabetes, lots of medical conditions can affect your energy levels. For a basic look at these levels, your Essential Energy Profile package looks at your thyroid function, iron and protein levels to check for iron deficiency anaemia. The package also includes a body composition analysis to check your hydration levels, muscle mass, visceral fat and more. For a more in-depth health check, you may want to consider the Advanced Energy Profile package which provides a more comprehensive analysis of your energy levels.

What's included in this health

Your Health Assessment includes:

Your cholesterol test, also called lipid panel, measures Triglycerides, High Density Lipoprotein (HDL), and Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) in your blood. LDL cholesterol is often referred to as bad cholesterol because high levels contribute to fatty build-ups in the arteries and increase the risk of heart attack, stroke and peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The HbA1c blood test determines your risk of diabetes and is far more accurate than standard glucose testing. While a standard test is a snapshot of your glucose levels at the moment your sample is taken, the HbA1c test measures the average amount of glucose in your blood over the last 2-3 months.
Your body composition scan is performed by sending a safe electrical signal through your body via pressure-contact electrodes. You’ll receive a breakdown of the percentages and weights of the various components of your body including muscle mass, visceral fat, body water and more.
Your essential proteins and iron test measures a number of important proteins found in the blood that are required for healthy bodily function, and iron which is vital for red blood cell production. Low protein levels can sometimes be related to liver or kidney disease, while low iron levels can show iron deficiency.
Your thyroid function test measures the levels of thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroxine (FT4) in your blood. It‘s estimated that around 1 in 20 people have a thyroid function problem, and this test can help identify both an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) and an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism).
Your blood test for kidney function checks your levels of sodium, urea, and creatinine as these can indicate any issues with kidney function. We also include an eGFR test (estimated glomerular filtration rate) which is a calculation of the amount of blood filtered through your kidneys over a period of time. This useful test is a measurement of how efficiently your kidneys are working.
Within around 8 days of your health check, you'll be able to view all your test results securely online. Within 21 days, you'll receive a printed hard copy results report through the post. Your report explains each test in detail, giving every result a flag of green, amber or red. This helps you identify any areas of concern at a glance. The report gives you follow-up advice on how you could improve your results, and we'll also let you know if any results need further follow-up with your own GP.
This test measures the levels of calcium, phosphate and uric acid in your blood. Calcium and phosphate are essential for muscle and nerve function, healthy teeth and bones, and energy function. Deficiencies in these can cause pins and needles, muscle cramps, weakness and tiredness. Uric acid helps test for gout, a painful condition affecting the joints in your body.
Unlimited access to a 24/7 GP helpline for a year after your appointment. From tummy upsets to travel advice, the service even covers prescriptions.
Vitamin D deficiency is common in the UK, making you feel tired and achey. It also puts you at greater risk from weakening of the bones (osteomalacia). Your vitamin D test measures the level of vitamin D (25-OH) in your blood to help identify deficiency or overload (which can lead to hypercalcaemia).
The liver function test looks at ALP (alkaline phosphatase), ALT (alanine aminotransferase), Gamma GT (Gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase), and Bilirubin levels in your blood to understand if you have a normal liver function.
Your iron stores test measures a specific protein in the blood called ferritin, which represents your total body iron stores. Ferritin is more sensitive at recognising iron deficiency than simply measuring iron levels in the blood, as ferritin stores can be significantly decreased before any fall in blood iron levels occurs. Iron deficiency anaemia is relatively common, and can make you feel tired, weak, dizzy and short of breath.

I received various invitations to get checked out, but always wondered would it be worth it.... Then I just decided to do it, and honestly I couldn't be happier. The location was easy to get to. I got looked after very well, everything got explained in normal English and the details I received after were amazing. The book was really detailed and easy to understand. Will definitely recommend and do it again for myself.
