FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) Blood Test

An FSH blood test checks hormone levels that affect fertility and menopause. Identify hormonal imbalance and manage your reproductive health with Bluecrest.

How can an FSH blood test help identify menopause or hormone imbalance?

An FSH blood test measures follicle-stimulating hormone levels to assess pituitary gland function and reproductive health. FSH plays a key role in egg growth and oestrogen production. As women approach menopause, FSH levels rise, indicating reduced ovarian activity and declining oestrogen.

Our private FSH test is a simple, accurate way to check reproductive health and detect menopause or hormonal imbalance. It can be added to any Bluecrest full-body health check. Explore our packages and book online today.

What does the FSH test involve?

  • Timing: For women still having periods, testing is best on day 3 of the menstrual cycle (day 1 is the start of your period). If you haven't had a period for two or more months, no timing preparation is needed.

  • Procedure: A small blood sample is taken from your arm using a fine needle. The process takes less than five minutes and is only mildly uncomfortable.

  • Results: Your sample is sent to a lab for analysis. Results are uploaded to your secure online dashboard, typically within a few days.
