How can I get a private health check?

Our private health checks consist of a series of examinations and tests, which provide you with an overview of your general health. You can choose to have a health check either at home or at one of our clinics.

At a clinic

You can book a health check with one of our Certified Healthcare professionals at one of over 2,000 mobile clinics nationwide. Our health MOT packages include up to 38 different health readings for a detailed view of your health. Depending on the package level chosen, the examinations undertaken on the day may include blood tests, a 6-lead ECG (electrocardiogram), a lung function test, a blood pressure check, and a body composition scan.

At Home

Home test kits are blood sample tests that are taken from the comfort of your own home with a simple finger-prick kit. There are three levels of testing offering up to 33 readings, from bone and muscle health through to liver and kidney function tests and heart disease risk. All you need to do is order your kit, take your own sample, send it back in our pre-addressed return envelope, and you will receive your results online within 8 days.

A note on the NHS

Private health checks can be taken by anyone who wants to understand what is happening inside of their body. They are therefore a great option for those who are simply looking to have a better understanding of their general health.

It is important to note that our health checks are for people without symptoms. They are not a substitute for the NHS, and you should contact your GP if you are concerned about your health or are experiencing symptoms.

Why should I have a private health check?

Our health checks provide you with an opportunity to track and improve your health. Many conditions are symptomless in the early stages, and can be improved with simple lifestyle changes (such as diet changes, supplementation and exercise). Therefore, pinpointing the areas needing improvement can help avoid complications in the future by giving you the knowledge and motivation needed to improve.

Subsequently, you may want to have regular health checks to monitor the changes in your body as you work on improving the areas flagged as needing improvement. This provides a great source of motivation and reassurance that your efforts are positively affecting your health.

What do Bluecrest’s health checks assess?

Our health checks test for a wide range of health markers. Depending on the level of testing you choose, these can include blood health, cardiovascular health, organ function (lung, kidney, liver), bone health, muscle health, diseases (e.g. heart disease, peripheral arterial disease, iron deficiency anaemia), body composition, cholesterol, diabetes and more.

The key readings included in most packages include:

  • Liver function
  • Bone and muscle health
  • Cholesterol
  • Kidney function
  • Anaemia tests

How do I receive my results?

If you have chosen a home test kit, you will receive your results within 8 days of laboratory analysis. You will be able to access these through your own secure online MyWellness account, which you can access directly on our website.

If you had an appointment at a clinic, you will be able to view your results on your own secure online MyWellness account within two weeks. You will also receive a personalised results report as a hardcopy sent through the post within 21 days for the UK and 28 days for ROI.

Whichever health check you chose, you will have access to a free 24/7 GP helpline for a year, which you can use whether you have a query about one of your results or just need some general health advice.

Expert testing facilities

All of our tests are performed at UKAS/CPA accredited laboratory clinically accredited to ISO 15189, meaning regular auditing is undertaken to ensure high standards of clinical quality and accuracy are maintained. Our cardiology work is performed at a specialist cardiology lab holding ISO9001/2000 status for quality assurance, meaning it is regularly audited by consultant cardiologists in the UK.

With such high-level accreditations and ongoing auditing, you can really trust the quality of your results.
