Bluecrest crestPSA Home Test Kit

Bluecrest

PSA is a protein made by the prostate gland in men. Small amounts are found in the blood, with the normal levels depending on your age and prostate health but elevated levels may indicate prostate cancer. Our PSA Test is an easy-to-use home test kit that measures the amount of PSA (prostate-specific antigen) in your blood.

Who is this test for?

  • Men who have a family history of prostate cancer
Men who have a family history of prostate cancer are at a higher risk of developing it themselves. Regular PSA tests can help keep watch for early warning signs.
  • Men who are at increased risk through obesity
Men who are obese/overweight have a higher risk of developing prostate cancer.
  • Men over 50 who want to monitor their PSA level
If you want to monitor your PSA level for peace of mind or because you’ve had a previous prostate condition. Men over 50 years old benefit most from this test and may choose to have a test every few years after their first test, or more frequently if they are at an increased risk for prostate cancer.

What our Chief Medical Officer has to say abut our PSA home test

As Chief Medical Officer of Bluecrest, Dr Toby Donati oversees clinical operations, leads on quality improvement and assists the MD with CQC and regulatory compliance. Here’s what he has to say about our PSA test:

The prostate is a small gland in the pelvis of men and is part of the reproductive system. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men with most cases developing in men aged 50 or older. Fortunately, the prostate cancer survival rate has tripled in the last 40 years. Around 78% of men survive for 10 years or more after receiving a diagnosis.

Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein made by the prostate gland. The amount that is found in your blood can be an indicator of prostate cancer, an enlarged prostate or other related conditions.

Our PSA Home Test Kit allows you to check your PSA level at home to check that it is within the normal range for your age. It’s important to remember that this test is not 100% accurate, sometimes high PSA levels are not due to prostate cancer and sometimes the test does not always detect cancer if PSA levels are within the normal range.

This test is most suitable for men who are over 50 or have increased risk factors such as a family history of prostate cancer, obesity or a previous prostate condition.

If you are experiencing any urinary symptoms and are concerned, contact your GP for a full examination and appropriate tests.
